Sajid Nadiadwala Eyes Filmistan Studio
Filmistan Studio holds an important place in the history of Hindi cinema. And now, looks like Sajid Nadiadwala will be a part of the history.

We hear, the filmmaker wants to buy the studio from its current owner, Anil Kumar Tolaram Jalan.

Located at SV Road in Goregaon, Mumbai, the studio was founded in 1943 by producer Sashadhar Mukherjee, his brother-in-law actor Ashok Kumar, director Gyan Mukherji and Rai Bahadur Chunilal.

Blockbusters like Anarkali, Paying Guest, Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Shaheed were churned out by the studio. In recent times too, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have shot there for Ra.One and Bodyguard respectively.

The Kick director is emotionally attached to the studio since his favourite director Nasir Hussain began his career there. In fact, the track Offo from Sajid's production 2 States was shot at the very location.

Buzz is, Sajid is in advanced talks with the owner and the deal is likely to come through soon.
